Calcia Division
Division Overview
At the Calcsia Division, we handle lime products made from natural limestone as well as environmentally friendly products. We operate wholly-owned manufacturing subsidiaries in Yamaguchi, Chiba, and Iwate, and we boast a nationwide sales network, with sales offices in Yamaguchi, Osaka, Tokyo, Chiba, Miyagi, Aomori, and Hokkaido.
Quicklime, produced by calcinating limestone, is used by steel, chemical, and paper manufacturers across Japan and at soil improvement sites. Notably, about 60% of quicklime produced in Japan is used in the steel industry.
Calcium hydroxide (slaked lime), created by reacting quicklime with water, is used in municipal incinerators (for exhaust gas treatment), chemical plants (for wastewater neutralization), and by farmers (for fertilizer).
Calcium carbonate, made by crushing limestone, is used in thermal power plants (for flue gas desulfurization), asphalt mixtures (as filler), and compound feed (as feed material). These lime products we manufacture are essential to many areas of daily life.
