In response to increased domestic and overseas demand, Ube increased capacity of Ultra-high purity calcium carbonate (CS) specifically used in MLCC in mobile telephone. The new plant located in Ube factory has the production capacity of 70tpm. In addition to existing CS plant located in Chiba factory with the capacity of 90tpm, total production capacity is to be 160tpm. The CS product has quite a high purity up to 99.9999% with fine particle sizes from 0.5 to 5 micron. Ube aims to raise annual sales figure for CS related products to , 200-1, 400 m in the near future.
