  Ube come up with new items of highly reactive calcium hydroxide for acid gas treatment in municipal incinerators. In gas treatment system based on dry process,it is difficult to eliminate SOx value lower than strict regulation level by conventional reagent. These new items are developed and designed especially for effective elimination of SOx in municipal incinerators with stringent regulation. These are also effective to decrease volume of exhausted fly ash.

  Ube entered into basic cosmetics market by 4 items,cream,essence,milky lotion,and face lotion. These are made mainly from natural based materials like ceramid and plant extractions. By utilizing technologies of compounding natural materials,Ube has been diversifying to consumer products with healthcare and safety like toothpaste including hyroxyapatite,vegetable oil based washing powder,and natural herb based insect repellent. Ube aims to raise annual sales figure for these product to 0m in this fiscal year.

Completion of NO.4 production plant for Ultra high purity calcium carbonate (CS)

  In response to increased domestic and overseas demand,Ube increased capacity of Ultra-high purity calcium carbonate (CS) specifically used in MLCC in mobile telephone. The new plant located in Ube factory has the production capacity of 70tpm. In addition to existing CS plant located in Chiba factory with the capacity of 90tpm,total production capacity is to be 160tpm. The CS product has quite a high purity up to 99.9999% with fine particle sizes from 0.5 to 5 micron. Ube aims to raise annual sales figure for CS related products to ,200-1,400 m in the near future.
